Look, no where on the bag does it say HEPA. I have used these bags and for the price they are great. As one reviewer states "It's good to have inexpensive cloth instead of the paper" AMEN. I just finished using my almost new Hoover Tempo Widepath U5140-900 (on sale $59 excellent value)to clean the fine remaining ash in my fireplace, my previous bag would have allowed the fine particles to escape... this bag did not - Kudos! For the money, Highly Recommended.

These bags as stated in above review are NOT HEPA! (1.0mc vs. 0.3mc HEPA) They are nice thick cloth similar to Hoover 3-M Filtrete HEPA type Y. The shipment comes with a good number of them, too. The bags are slightly smaller (2-3 inches) than Hoover 3-M. They do NOT have the nice rubber and carboard collar the 3-M bags have either, instead, they are reinforced paper and cardboard. It's good to have inexpensive cloth instead of the paper (knew the price was too good to be true!) but I really thought i was getting a hepa bag. Now I will have to order the proper hepa bags as this allergy season is in full swing and I am not prepared with hepa bags for my vacuum. Going to look into HEGA filters anyway.;)

The product is quits satifactory. Processing and delivery were timely.
I have used these bags for a considerable time now and have always found them to be satifactory, and tremendously helpful in controlling the dust in my home environment. This is a boon in view of my almost chronic allergy condition.

We purchased these bags for the first time in May 2001. I installed a bag and thought it worked OK. (I did not throw the former bags, not Hoover bags, out.) The next time the bag needed changing the lady who cleans the house (unbeknown to us) installed the bag we had been using previously. My wife who is very sensitive to house dust recognized the difference. After a very short time my wife said she could smell the dust when the vacuum cleaner was in use. I changed the bag in our vacuum back to a Hoover bag and the probem was cured. While not very scientific, it convinced us. I have thrown the other bags away.
Additional Comment:
Because of the small particles that are trapped in the bag, I take the vacuum outside to remove the filled bag. This prevents these particles from escaping back into the air in the house.

These bags are somewhat difficult to replace. Takes a few minutes of wiggling and pushing. This also prevents the sticky tab for sealing the bag from sticking to the opening.

We've owned Kirby's, Oreck's, others and, for the money, this one wins hands down. It's lightweight, easy to manuveur, and almost drives itself. We have a medium nap carpet and have our unit set on the highest setting. It's great on pet hair (we have a yellow lab) and does a good job along walls and corners. The bag check port is a nice feature. The cord could be six feet longer and the on/off switch should be foot-operated or on the handle rather than the bag housing. The accessories are o.k., ......
